One of the best upgrades you can do for your Bug or your Super Beetle is to convert the old drum brakes to disc brakes. A. C. Industries has now made it easier than ever. This first in the industry is 100% bolt on. This kit is so simple to install, that if you can repack your own wheel bearings, you can do this install yourself. There are no spindles to change, just remove the drums and backing plate and replace them with the supplied O.E. quality disc brackets. Install the new rotor and caliper and bleed the brakes. Yes, it’s that simple! We suggest installing new seals and bearings while you are at it. (sold as separate kit.) This kit will NOT add to the off set of the car.
THIS KIT CANNOT BE USED WITH DROPPED SPINDLES AND CANNOT BE USED WITH BACKING PLATES!
This kit can be used to convert Thing front brakes to 4-Lug, Chevy/Ford, Porsche or Blank for custom bolt pattern. This kit will widen the Thing track approx. 1/4" per side.
Kit Includes: (2) Rotors, (2) Caliper Mounting Brackets, (2) Calipers w/Pads and (1) Caliper Mounting Hardware. Kit reuses backing plate bolts to mount Caliper Bracket. Bearings and Seals not included.
Stud Installation Note: These drums/rotors are drilled for the correct stud size but must still be reamed to the finish size to obtain the proper press fit. Skipping this step will result in inproperly installed studs or damage to the drum/rotor.
