Used in conjunction with the '68-'79 fuel gauge. The fuel gauge cannot handle a constant current flow from the electrical system, therefore, the original vibrator converts the steady current flow to the fuel gauge to a pulse flow that registers between 0 and 12 volts. Without a properly working vibrator, your fuel gauge will not operate. Looks different from the original, but does the same thing.
